Spencer D. Hess, 64, Brainerd, passed away at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd on Monday, April 20, 2009. He was born March 3, 1945, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Francis and Velma (Tegtmier) Hess. He was a 1963 graduate of East Waterloo High, was in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968 and worked at Potlatch until his retirement.He is survived by his wife, Gina; his sons, Shawn, David and Aaron; his daughters, Lauri and Linda; his stepchildren, Troy, Chad and Lori; 12 grandchildren; his siblings, Randall, Pam, Gretchen (Allen), Jalane and Jennifer (Charlie); and his mother, Velma.He was preceded in death by his father.Services are pending with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Brainerd.
